| We now have a new section of our website called "Business Opportunities." This area will outline lists of business ideas that community members have identified as desireable, and you can submit your ideas there, too!
Also, it includes leads from conglomerate representatives looking for entrepreneurs who want to start franchises and local business owners interested in transfering ownership. Visit the Business Opportunities section under the Small Business tab, or click here to visit Business Opportunities. | |

| We are happy to announce that the Downtown Marshall Association has been established and will hold their next meeting on July 13th, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Marshall Public Library! This group was developed by group of concerned citizens eager to see downtown become more successful. If you would like to get involved or receive more information about the group, please contact Josh King at MSDC by calling 660-886-6889, or Amy Crump at the Marshall Public Library, 660-886-3391. Also, thanks and congratulations to Tracey Hartley, our Missouri Main Street representative!

| Downtown Revitalization Meeting | 05-26-2009 |
| The Downtown Revitalization Committee, formed at the State of Saline County, will hold their first meeting this evening at the Marshall Public Library at 5:30 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and community members are invited to attend.

| Labor Study Presentation | 05-18-2009 |
| The Docking Institute will hold a presentation of their 2009 Labor Basin Study on Saline County findings at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 19th at the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation offices. A copy of this labor study can be found under the 'Workforce' section, and is also located in our 'Documents and Maps' center.

| Saline Green Ethanol Community Meeting | 05-16-2009 |
The Saline Green Project will be holding an informational and project launch meeting at the Marshall Civic Center on Saturday the 16th of May at 10:00AM. Guest Speakers will include Congressman Ike Skelton, Mayor Connie Latimer, Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner, the entire engineering, technology, and project management team, and many experts in the field of Cellulosic Ethanol and Green Electricity production to answer questions.
